CCRTA schedules Thursday meeting

Wednesday, December 5, 2012

The Clay County Retired Teachers Association will have a coffee event Thursday, Dec. 6, at 9:30 a.m.

The group will meet at 3D Café (formerly Goodies Galore) between Bob Bowen Ford and Wallace Recycling/Disposal.

Members are asked to write down their volunteer hours and turn them in at this time.

All retired teachers are invited whether they have volunteer hours or not.

Everyone will order off the menu.

Members of the CCRTA worked in the community for almost a quarter of a million hours for the previous year.

The group hopes to meet and exceed the quarter million mark for 2012.

Retired teachers who have forgotten to total their hours can usually look at their calendars and figure their time.

These are hours the members have spent working in hospitals, nursing homes, churches, court, building homes, serving on boards, creating skate parks, etc.
