SPENCER -- The Owen County Amateur Radio Association will conduct amateur radio license exams Saturday, Dec. 15, at 9 a.m., at the Christian Church of Spencer, 157 S. Montgomery St.
The club will then hold a meet-and-greet session with cookies and drinks.
A gathering for breakfast will take place at Chamber's Restaurant, 72 W. Market St., Spencer, across from the church, beginning at approximately 8 a.m.
All are invited to attend.
There are more than 685,000 Amateur Radio licenses in the United States, and more than 2.5 million around the world.
Through the ARRL's Amateur Radio Emergency Services program, ham volunteers provide both emergency communications for thousands of state and local emergency response agencies and non-emergency community services as well, all for free.
