Tri County Club

The Tri County Club met Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Zion Church.

Hostesses for the delicious pork barbecue luncheon were Linda Rushton and Rhonda Tincher.

Surprise package was won by Evelyn Rubeck.

Hostess gifts were won by Geraldine Cundiff and Esther Heller.

The meeting was called to order. Readings were given by Bonnie Hardwick -- "To the General Tax Office, Washington, D.C.," Rhonda Tincher and Roberta Nees.

Roll call was answered by seven members and two guests, Carol Booher and Esther Heller.

Carol is now a member. Welcome Carol.

Bonnie reported sending nine cards during the last month.

The meeting was closed and Bingo was played during the social hour with Carol winning overall.

Alpha Omega Chapter of Delta Theta Tau Sorority

The regular meeting of the Alpha Omega Chapter of Delta Theta Tau Sorority took place at 7:55 p.m., Nov. 27, 2012, at First United Methodist Church Traylor Hall following a mock initiation for our quadrinial visitation.

The meeting was opened by Chapter President Kathy Bridgewater with the Delta Opening Ceremony and Delta Prayer.

The secretary called roll with 16 members present.

The October minutes were approved as read.

The treasurer's report was read. The treasurer's report will be filed subject to audit.

Reports of Committees

* October Philanthropy -- Michelle Bell took items to the Humane Shelter,

* November Philanthropy -- Cindy Crowder contacted Monica Wallace (Hamilton Center) for a Christmas family donation. Jennifer French is collecting items anytime for library projects.

Diane Braden is collecting only the fronts of greeting cards for the National Convention,

* Cheeseballs -- We made 1,250 this year. The bill for cafeteria manager was received the day after the meeting,

* Taste Treat -- Tammy is organizing her committee and discussing ideas. Salvation Army bell ringers will be stationed from 9-11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 1, in front of Walmart. Kathy passed around a signup sheet, and

* Christmas Movies -- Lorna announced Dec. 12, is at Jackson Gardens and Dec. 13, at Meridian Towers.

Sign up for an evening and bring three dozen sweet or salty treats. Be there at 5:30 p.m. The movie begins at 6.

Old Business

The Christmas Party is Dec. 11, at 6:30 p.m., at Diane Braden's. Bring a finger food and the family gift you took a tag for at the cheeseball making.

Thanks to those who set up the park shelter display for Christmas In The Park. Tear down will be Jan. 5, at 10 a.m.

The Power of the Community report from Diane and Janice stated Jan. 10, is the event date at North Clay Middle School at 6 p.m.

At 6:30 p.m., the food stations will begin serving.

Diane will have $10 tickets at our party for purchase.

Kim Emmert O'Dell made a motion to allow Tammy $100 for a raffle basket donation.

New Business

Standing rules recommendations must be given to Melissa at the January meeting.

Kim received a letter from the Northview High School principal requesting a donation for their Positive Behavior Model program.

Diane Braden made a motion to donate $200.

Karen Allen, national president and visiting officer, spoke to us regarding her visitation and thanked us for all our good work in the community.

Terry Reister, Alpha Province chair, sent a thank you and 2012 Province minutes were sent for us to copy.

An official nominating form was received if anyone would like to run for a national office position.

The next meeting will be Jan. 15, 2013. The party group will be Cindy McKinney and Vangie Sutherland.

The meeting was closed with the Delta Closing Ceremony.

Indiana Extension Homemakers

The Indiana Extension Homemakers will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2013.

All Indiana counties have been asked to make a quilt block.

A quilt will be made from the blocks and a raffle for the quilt will take place.

Tickets are $1 each or six for $5.

Tickets are on sale now and will be through February 2013. Members of the Clay County Extension Homemakers have tickets, which may be purchased at the Clay County Extension Office.
