John David Archer

John David Archer, 66, Terre Haute, currently of Danville, Ill., passed away Dec. 8, 2012, at the Veterans Hospital, Danville, Ill., following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Terre Haute, Dec. 3, 1946, the son of John and Mae (Davis) Archer.

He graduated from Brazil High School and served his country during the Vietnam War with the United States Navy.

John worked as a car salesman at several dealerships in the Terre Haute area.

John especially enjoyed his time spent with friends at Jerry's, and more recently Denny's.

John also enjoyed playing the stock market and spending time with his feline companions Tiger and Calico.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Mae Archer.

He is survived by his daughter Helen Corne (Jeremy) and son David Archer (Lori Miller), both of Terre Haute, grandchildren Ashley Stadler, Austin Stadler, Alexander Stadler, Michaela Archer and Zachary Archer, all of Terre Haute, brother Curtis Archer, Terre Haute, sisters Janet Hallmark, Illinois, and Linda Hallmark, Terre Haute, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Services will be at French Funeral Home, Brazil, Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at noon, with Pastor Tom Roeschlein officiating.

Burial will follow at Veterans National Cemetery, Danville, Ill.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday, from 11 a.m., until time of services.
