Meeting Change

The Clay County Humane Shelter Board will now conduct meetings at Brazil City Hall.

Regular board meetings will be from 6-7 p.m., with membership meetings from 7-8 p.m., each month, during the third Monday, beginning in January.

Harmony Meeting Notice

The last meeting of the month for the Harmony Town Council will take place Friday, Dec. 28, at the conclusion of the annual Christmas dinner for council and board members.

There will be no meeting in January 2013.

The first meeting for 2013 will take place at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 5, at the community center.

Club Meeting

The Clay County Republican Club will conduct its monthly meeting Monday, Dec. 17, at 7 p.m., at the Kennedy's Crossing Bingo Center on Kennedy Crossing Road, across from the Northview High School tennis courts.

Newly elected offices Ted Paris (President), Karen Burk (Vice President) and Lori Brown (Secretary/Treasurer) will be sworn in as officers for the 2013-14 term.

Members are asked to bring Christmas cookies to share.

The public is invited to come and help celebrate the new officers.

Craft Time!

Children ages 8-older are invited to the Brazil Public Library Wednesday, Dec. 19, anytime between 6-7 p.m., to decorate a Christmas ornament.

The event is free and open to the public.

More Crafts!

Youth ages 7-under are invited to stop by the Brazil Public Library Thursday, Dec. 20, between 6-7 p.m., to make a holiday memory craft.

Parents are invited to help their children as well.

Special Meeting

The Clay County Council will conduct a special meeting Friday, Dec. 21, at 9 a.m., in the Commissioner's Courtroom, Clay County Courthouse, 609 E. National Ave., Brazil.

The council will conduct a second reading of Ordinance 22-2012 and also perform year-end transfers.

Center Point Meeting

The Center Point Town Council will meet for a special meeting Thursday, Dec. 27, at 4 p.m., at the Center Point Town Hall to act on a proposed Americans With Disabilities Ordinance and end-of-year matters.

Harmony Special Meeting

The Harmony Town Council will meet for a special meeting Friday, Dec. 28, after the Town of Harmony Christmas gathering.

The meeting will begin at approximately 7:45 p.m., at the Harmony Community Center.

The council is expected to act on a proposed Americans With Disabilities Ordinance and end-of-year matters.

Food Giveaway

The Church of Our Lord Jesus will conduct a food giveaway Saturday, Dec. 29, from 1-3 p.m.

The event will take place at the church, 708 E. Hendrix St., Brazil.

Clay County Day!

Clay County Day in Bradenton, Fla., will take place Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013.

The 34th reunion and luncheon will take place at PIER 22 Ballroom, formerly the Mattison's Riverside Ballroom.

Letters will be mailed to past attendees.

Due to the increase in postage, letters will not be sent to those who have not attended the past three years.

Career Fair

The United States Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Prisons will host a Veterans Career Fair Jan. 28, 2013, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., at FCC Terre Haute, 4700 Bureau Rd., S. Terre Haute, 47802, just behind Honey Creek Mall.

Recruiters and members of the Affirmative Action Committee will be available to assist with the application process and to answer questions about benefits and qualifications.
