Janice Mae (Haughee) Haskett, 71, Terre Haute, passed away at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, Dec. 15, 2012, following a brief illness.

She was born March 20, 1941, in Carbon, the daughter of Alexander and Anna (Cassiday) Haughee.

Janice graduated from Van Buren High School with the class of 1960.

Over the years, she had worked as a caretaker, housekeeper and child care provider.

Janice loved spending time with her family.

She also enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping and having cookouts, watching soap's and working crossword puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her parents Alexander and Anna Haughee, sisters Sandra (Haughee) Morlan and Carolyn Sue (Haughee) Conard, brother Terry Haughee, great-granddaughter Makayla Lynn Grayless, and step-daughter-in-law Peggy Haskett.

Janice is survived by her daughters Madelin (Haughee) Grayless and husband Mike, Terre Haute, and Teresa (Haskett) Priehs and husband Mark, Terre Haute, son Johnny Ray Lydick, Terre Haute, stepsons Alan Haskett, Terre Haute, and Tim Haskett and wife Debbie, Florida, grandchildren Mike (Amy) Grayless, Jessica (J.R.) Kiger, Larry (Amanda) Hair, Jimmy Hair, Markie Priehs and Miranda Priehs, brothers Richard (Diane) Haughee and Larry (Leslie) Haughee, step-grandchildren Cherish Miller (Rob), Alan Haskett, Brandon Haskett, Jessica Haskett and John Haskett, as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at Meadows Manor North, where Janice had been staying, as well as the staff at Union Hospital, especially her nurse Joyce, during her stay in Intensive Care.

Services will be at French Funeral Home, Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at 1 p.m., with Tim Fagg officiating.

Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
