Donation Drive

Wednesday, December 19, 2012

Meridian Elementary recently hosted a donation drive to collect goods for the Clay County Humane Shelter. Students brought in pet toys, cat and dog food, towels, laundry detergent and other items to benefit the shelter. Karen Cooper's fourth grade class decided to donate to the drive instead of have an in-class gift exchange. They're pictured here with Humane Shelter representative Kathy McGinty (center). McGinty brought along shelter dog Boquin, who is currently recovering from being hit by a semi-truck. Boquin is currently up for adoption at the shelter.

Excellent idea!
