Dorothy Eloise Rader, 89, Brazil, passed away on Dec. 25, 2012, at Exceptional Living Center with her loving family by her side.

Dorothy was born Sept. 4, 1923, the daughter of James Hovey and Ferrie (Redwine) Wilson. She graduated from Carmel High School. Dorothy married the love of her life Arthur Thomas Rader in 1944. They were married for 48 years before he passed away on Feb. 18, 1992. Dorothy was a homemaker while she raised her family, and later became a nurse's aide for Macannel Nursing Home.

Dorothy was a member of Fairview Christian Church in Brazil.

She took great pride in playing bingo at Meridian Towers where she resided for almost nine years. She also enjoyed raising her flowers, especially her violets. She loved working in the garden, sewing and working with crafts. She loved her annual fishing trips to Minnesota with her family. Her greatest joy was being with her family and cooking home cooked meals.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur Rader and brother Donald Wilson.

She is survived by her daughters Rose Marie Pell and husband Harold, Brazil, Katherine Louise Beddow and husband Steven Sr., Terre Haute, sister Doris Gordon, Summitville, Delores Jones and husband Richard, Westfield, Donna Jones and husband George, Carmel, sister-in-law Thelma Wilson, Carmel, grandsons Wayne Pell and wife Amy, Jeff Pell and wife Lou Ann, Mark Pell, Steven Beddow Jr., great-granddaughter Hallie Marie Pell, great-grandson Logan Pell as well as three step-grandchildren, four step great-great-grandchildren and extended family members.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of Exceptional Living Center and Vista Care Hospice.

Service will be Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at 1 p.m., at Lawson-Miller Chapel with Pastor Steve Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery.
