TERRE HAUTE -- The Wabash Valley Genealogy Society will offer the series, "Beginning Genealogy Classes," Wednesday, March 20 and 27, April 3, 10, 17 and 24.
The sessions will take place from 6-8 p.m., in the lower level meeting rooms at the Vigo County Public Library. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
The cost of the class if $25. The price includes the cost of one free year membership in the Wabash Valley Genealogy Society.
Class size will be limited to 30 participants. Early registration is encouraged.
During the classes, participants will learn how to fill out genealogy charts, how to record and organize information, where to find information that will help extend family trees and how to search online and in repositories.
The class is recommended for anyone new to genealogy and family history research, genealogy "dabblers" who need additional direction in order to advance research and researchers who want a refresher course in core search principles.
Each week, the classes will be taught by different WVGS members who will be giving instruction in their areas of expertise.
