Brazil City Police
Two recent traffic accidents were investigated by the Brazil Police Department, including:
* At 2:07 p.m., Tuesday, officers were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident at the intersection of Illinois and Alabama streets.
According to officials, Justin R. Noblitt, 33, Brazil, told officers he was backing out of his driveway onto Illinois Street and did not see another vehicle parked in the street. Noblitt told offers he backed his vehicle into the driver's side door of the other vehicle.
Officials estimated total damage to be $1,001-$2,500.
* At 9:07 a.m., Wednesday, officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Depot and Chestnut streets. According to officers, William A. Mitchell, 76, Carbon, stated the window on his pickup truck had fogged up and he was unable to see another vehicle, driven by Bryant F. White, 49, Brazil, approaching. Mitchell informed officers he struck the vehicle driven by White head-on.
Officials said White stated he noticed Mitchell's vehicle approaching him in his lane. White said he slowed down almost to a stop thinking Mitchell's vehicle would move over. However, White stated Mitchell's vehicle continued in his lane until striking him head-on.
Officials estimated total damage to be $2,501-$5,000.
