WEST TERRE HAUTE -- It's not too late to signup for a workshop with White Violet Farm Alpacas at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.

The workshop will walk new and potential alpaca owners through the ins and outs of using alpaca fiber.

The workshop, "Alpaca 102: What Do I Do With All This Fiber?" will take place Saturday, Jan. 12, from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

The one-day class will offer a hands-on approach to working with alpaca fiber, including a chance to skirt, card, wash and felt the fiber.

Fiber terminology, ideas on shearing and fiber preparation as well as spinning and weaving demonstration are all on the agenda.

Instructors from White Violet Farm Alpacas, Sister Maureen Freeman, CSJ director, and Candace Minster, fiber coordinator, will help participants make the most of the alpaca fiber.

Cost for the program is $75, which includes lunch.

For further information, call Robyn Morton at 812-535-2932 or e-mail rmorton@spsmw.org, by Friday, Jan. 11, to secure a spot.
