He was wanted for Criminal Recklessness with Serious Bodily Injury, D felony, in Parke County, and felony burglary in Douglas County, Ill. Garrard had been considered armed and dangerous.
Acting on a Wabash Valley Crime Stoppers tip called into the Indiana State Police, ISP troopers Todd Brown, David Petrowski and Mike Wood, along with officers from the Brazil Police Department, went to 501 N. Vandalia St., Brazil, to search for Garrard.
The address was allegedly the home of Garrard's mother.
Garrard was allegedly located hiding in a rear storage room of the residence.
He was taken into custody without incident.
According to officials, a family friend was at the home, but not Garrard's mother.
Garrard was incarcerated at the Clay County Justice Center, but was then transferred to the Parke County jail.
There is no bond on the Parke County warrant. However, there is a $50,000 bond on the Douglas County warrant.
