Ice Fishing Contest
Jack's Live Bait and Tackle will host its first 2013 Ice Fishing Contest.
The contest will begin Friday, weather permitting.
Those taking part are asked to bring their largest crappie or blue gill to the place of business.
The winner will receive a prize.

Harmony Meetings Scheduled
The Harmony Town Council recently announced it has designated the first Tuesday of each month for its meetings.
Meetings will take place at 7 p.m., at the Harmony Community Center and are open to the public.
The Board of Commissioners for the Brazil Housing Authority will conduct its monthly meeting Thursday, Jan. 10, at 8:30 a.m., at the offices of the Brazil Housing Authority, 122 W. Jackson St., Brazil.

Northview High School will host a dance clinic for students in grades kindergarten through eighth-grade Jan. 12.

Amber Slaughterbeck, Ellen Lunsford and Heather Martin will be the guest speakers at the Wabash Valley Audubon Society monthly meeting Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the Vigo County Public Library.
The meeting will conclude at 9 p.m.

Time For Crafts!
All are invited to the Brazil Public Library Thursday, Jan. 17, at 6 p.m., to make an icy all-weather plastic baggie wreath.
Cost for the craft event is $1.

Staunton Community Dinner
The Lady Volunteers of Stanton will host a community dinner at the Staunton Community Center Friday, Jan. 18, from 4-7 p.m.
The meal will consist of beef and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, cole slaw, dinner rolls, dessert, coffee, tea and lemonade.
Cost is $9 for adults and $5 for children 10-8 under.
All proceeds benefit the community center.
The Little Historic Church at Carbon will conduct its monthly program Friday, Jan. 18.
There will be a pitch-in dinner at 6 p.m., with the program starting at 7 p.m.
This month, entertainment will be provided by P-150.
The public is encouraged to attend.

The YMCA of Clay County, 225 E. Kruzan St., Brazil, will conduct a youth dance Friday, Jan. 18.
The dance is open to sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders.
The dance will begin at 8 p.m., and end at 10:30.

The Northview High School band alumni night has been scheduled for Jan. 19.
Republican Club To Meet
The Clay County Republican Club has scheduled its January meeting for Jan. 21, at the Kennedy's Crossing Bingo Center, 8990 N. Kennedy Crossing Rd., Brazil.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m.
The club also stated its meetings will take place during the third Monday of each month.
Chamber Of Commerce Meeting scheduled
The monthly Clay County Chamber of Commerce's luncheon will take place Tuesday, Jan. 22, at noon.
The luncheon will take place at the Renaissance, 101 W. National Ave., Brazil.
The guest speaker will be Brazil Mayor Brian Wyndham.
Cost to attend is $10 per person, payable at the event.
