North Daviess edges Clay City girls at free throw line

CLAY CITY -- Visiting North Daviess was perfect from the foul line in its road trip to Clay City on Monday night and that proved key in a 41-40 SWIAC victory.

The Cougars hit all eight of their foul shots in the game while the Eels were just 3-of-12 at the charity stripe. Clay City got 12 points from Alex Wolfe and 11 from Alisha Steward with Callie Dayhuff hitting a pair of 3-pointers in a seven-point effort.

Clay City claimed the junior varsity victory.

The Eels fall to 5-9 overall, 2-5 SWIAC, with a trip to Sullivan on Thursday night.
