The facility, located at 14 W. Pinckley St., Brazil, is a three-bay garage that is capable of holding three standard school buses for repairs.
The corporation worked on moving all supplies and materials to the new location during Christmas break.
"We're about 95 percent operational at that facility right now," Misner said. "We have just a few things to move over to the facility."
The CCS Board of Trustees approved the purchase of the new bus barn, and the corporation is working on putting together a request to install a new lift at the facility. After bids are submitted, that request will be presented to the school board in the next few months.
CCS Superintendent Kim Tucker said the facility is a benefit to the corporation.
"I've already talked to the mechanics at the new bus barn, and they love the space," Tucker said. "They love that they can keep the garage area clean and that there's improved heating and lighting. All of these things are advantageous and make it easier for the mechanics to do their jobs more efficiently."
