Chamber Meeting

The monthly Clay County Chamber of Commerce's luncheon will take place Tuesday, Jan. 22, at noon.

The luncheon will take place at the Renaissance, 101 W. National Ave., Brazil.

The guest speaker will be Brazil Mayor Brian Wyndham.

Cost to attend is $10 per person, payable at the event.

Board Of Works Meeting

The Brazil Board of Public Works and Safety will conduct a meeting Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 10 a.m., in Brazil City Hall Council Chambers.

General business will be discussed, and the public is welcome to attend.

Health Seminar

Clay County Health Department Community Health Educator Regina K. Yoder, RN, will present information regarding gluten and living a gluten-free life at the Clay County Senior Citizen's Center, 120 S. Franklin St., Brazil, Jan. 23, from noon-12:30 p.m.

The public is invited to attend the seminar.

Rotary Club To Meet

The Rotary Club of Brazil will welcome Father John Hollowell as its speaker for the month of January. Father Hollowell ministers at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Brazil.

The meeting will take place Wednesday, Jan. 23, at the Renaissance Reception and Conference Center, 101 W. National Ave., Brazil, and is expected to begin at noon.

Craft Time!

Youth ages 7-under are invited to the Brazil Public Library any time between 6-7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 24, to make and take a snowman bookmark.

The craft is free and open to the public.

Career Fair

The United States Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Prisons will host a Veterans Career Fair Jan. 28, 2013, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., at FCC Terre Haute, 4700 Bureau Rd., S. Terre Haute, 47802, just behind Honey Creek Mall.

Recruiters and members of the Affirmative Action Committee will be available to assist with the application process and to answer questions about benefits and qualifications.

Board Meeting

The annual meeting of the Clay County Extension Board will take place Monday, Jan. 28, at the Clay County 4-H Fairgrounds.

The event is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.

Extension Board President Jim Smith will preside over the meeting.

Four people will need to be elected to serve on the Extension Board for a three-year term. Those running for election include Jackie Chastain, Nancy Hyatt, Dwight Ludwig, Martha Knox, Steve Stoelting and Sonya Weaver.

Craft Time!

Children ages 8-older are invited to the Brazil Public Library Wednesday, Jan. 30, between the hours of 6-7 .m., to make a paint chip bookmark.

The craft event is free and open to the public.

Blood Drive

The Indiana Blood Center hosts hundreds of blood drives each month.

In February, the center will host a blood drive at the Clay County Courthouse. The event will take place from 9:30-11:30 a.m., Feb. 19.
