She was born in Brazil, Dec. 9, 1940, the daughter of Walter and Naomi (Jones) Cox.
Rose graduated from Van Buren High School with the class of 1958.
Rose had worked at Pell's Bargain Mart in the clothing building, Grasses Meat Market and as a florist at Brazil Green House.
Recently, she had owned and operated a cleaning service.
Rose married Thomas Stearley Oct. 23, 1986.
Rose enjoyed dancing and shopping. She loved taking care of her home and gardening and will be remembered for her wonderful personality and sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Naomi Cox, granddaughter Sarah Borders, and father-in-law Rex Stearley.
She is survived by her husband Tom, daughters Jill Clark and husband Aaron, Texas, and Melinda Stearley, Brazil, sons Joe Farris, Terre Haute, Jay Farris, Brazil, and Thomas C. Stearley, Greencastle. She is also survived by grandchildren Jeremy Farris, Megan Hawkins (Kenny), Jeffery Borders, Casey Clark, Logan Borders, Levi Stearley and Victory Stearley, great-grandchildren Dakota, Gage, Dristan and Camden, brothers Millard Cox (Nancy) and Robert Cox, both of Brazil, as well as several extended family members and friends.
At her request, no services have been scheduled.
Cremation was entrusted to Lawson-Miller Chapel.
