Northview's freshman and junior varsity basketball teams scored a trio of victories on Thursday night against conference opponents.
The freshmen hosted the South Vermillion Wildcats and despite a slow start, dominated the second two periods to come away with a 45-29 victory.
The evening was highlighted by the first high school bucket for freshman Blake Hill, who brought the crowd to their collective feet with his tally in the victory.
The Knights trailed 17-12 at the midway points, but controlled the second half by a 33-12 margin to gain the win.
Leading the Knights was Cameron Brown's 13-point evening to go with 11 from Nathan Thomas. Quinton Hayes scored eight in the victory. Sam Grimes sparked the Northview comeback with his role at the point of attack in the press. He also posted six points with Dylan Hall posting two and Preston Pinnick contributing three.
The Knights improve to 11-5 this season and compete at Owen Valley in the WIC Tourney on Feb. 2 with a match-up against the winner of Brown County vs. Edgewood at noon.
The junior varsity squads hit the road to Sullivan and came away with a 34-30 victory in the girls' contest and a 44-27 win in the boy's game.
The Northview girls led at the end of each quarter in a tight affair and got 16 points from Sydney Buell with Brittany Fagg posting 14 to go with four points from Jessica Baker.
In the boy's contest, the Knights jumped out to a 23-15 lead at halftime and controlled the third period to pull away for the victory over the Golden Arrows.
Nine different players got into the scoring column with freshman Hunter Ragan scoring a team-high 15 points to go with nine from Nate Newton. Mark Underwood added five, Kelly Hawkins scored four and both Keegan Roembke and Jacob Harden had three points. Seth Payton and Blake Mershon had two and Gaddis Baysinger had one.
The JV girls host Plainfield at 6 p.m. on Tuesday with the boys traveling to Plainfield on Feb. 2.
