Alpha Omega Chapter of Delta Theta Tau
The regular meeting of the Alpha Omega Chapter of Delta Theta Tau Sorority took place at 7 p.m., Jan. 15, at Cindy McKinney's home. The meeting was opened by Chapter Vice President Kim Emmert O' Dell with the Delta Opening Ceremony and Delta Prayer. The secretary called roll with 13 members present.
The November minutes were approved as read. The treasurer's report was read and will be filed subject to audit. Total bills presented for payment were $1, 203.54. On a motion by Jennifer French, the bills were paid.
Reports of Committees
Cindy and Vangie will take care of the January Philanthropy.
Diane and Linda took shoes to S.O.S. and took care of LEAAP for the December Philanthropy.
Taste Treat -- Tammy reported her committee met. The event will be April 20, at NCMS from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Be there by 10:30 a.m., with food. The committee will be there by 9 a.m. Tickets are $10 and will be passed out by the March meeting. Three appetizers/finger foods such as a sweet, meat or other are needed. Turn the recipes in at the February meeting. The committee is discussing a theme and recipe cards or cookbooks.
Christmas Movies -- Lorna announced everything went well with 19 and 24 attendees respectively attending from Jackson and Meridian Towers.
Standing Rules -- Melissa needs changes by February to send in March.
Geraniums -- May 7 is the tentative delivery date.
Scholarship -- Michelle e-mailed the application and cover letter to Northview High School and Clay City High School.
Christmas in the Park -- Thanks to all who helped with this project setting up and tearing down.
Nominating -- Tammy passed out nomination forms for us to name who we thought would be good at each office and then we discussed the results. Some have already accepted the offer.
Province standing rules were passed out. Karen Allen sent our visitation letter, and everything was in order at inspection.
New rituals and brochures will be ordered. In February, we would like to discuss Jennifer French's idea of getting new members.
Diane read communications from LEAAP Center staff and two S.O.S. thank you cards.
The next meeting will be Feb. 19. Party Group will be Bonnie Boor and Tammy Ninesling. Tammy will host the meeting. The meeting was closed with the Delta Closing Ceremony.
Indiana Extension Homemakers
The Indiana Extension Homemakers will celebrate its 100th anniversary this year.
All Indiana counties have been asked to make a quilt block.
A quilt will be made from the blocks and a raffle for the quilt will take place.
Tickets are $1 each or six for $5.
Tickets are on sale and will be through February 2013.
Members of the Clay County Extension Homemakers have tickets which may be purchased at the Clay County Extension Office.
