North Clay girls hoops split pair of games

North Clay's eighth-grade girl's dropped a pair of games to Cascade on Tuesday night with the 'A' squad losing 51-25 and the 'B' team falling by a 23-6 score.

The 'A' team got 11 points from Abby Conrad, eight from Stacy Payton and six from Kenzi Stearley. In the 'B' game, the Knights got five from Chelsea Vanatti and one from Carleigh Shrader.

The sixth-grade girls rebounded after a loss to get a 26-8 victory over St. Pats as Sophia Bell tallied eight points. Kassidy Glassburn had seven for North Clay with both Torrence Fagg and Jenni Lundy adding four. Addy Thompson provided two and Cheyenne Monfort scored one.

"The girls played the best first half that they have played all season," coach Katie Geyman commented. "After a loss against Otter Creek, they came back tonight and showed me what they could do. They played great as a team!"

The sixth-grade Knights host South Vermillion on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The eighth-grade travels to South Putnam on Monday at 6 p.m.
