Deputies with the Clay County Sheriff's Department arrested two individuals from the Indianapolis area early Sunday morning.
According to Sheriff Mike Heaton, while on patrol early Sunday morning, deputies witnessed a suspicious vehicle in the 7000 block of North Murphy Road.
Heaton said deputies stopped to check the vehicle and noticed tracks leading away from it.
In addition, Heaton said a female was still located in the vehicle.
Deputies also found a male in a barn near the area.
After a background check, it was discovered the vehicle the pair were in allegedly was stolen from the Indianapolis area.
Officials arrested Rudy Richards II, 32, and preliminarily charged him with Trespass, Theft, Resisting Law Enforcement, Possession of Paraphernalia and Possession of Stolen Property.
In addition, officials arrested Kayla M. Abnew, 24, and preliminarily charged her with Trespass, Assisting A Criminal, Receiving Stolen Property and Possession of Paraphernalia.
Heaton said according to statements from both individuals, they were stopped in the area allegedly "looking for gasoline."
As of Sunday afternoon, both were still incarcerated at the Clay County Justice Center on $7,000, with no 10 percent allowed.
