The following is a list of upcoming area events as provided to The Brazil Times:

LEPC Meetings

The Clay County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) will conduct its 2013 quarterly meetings at the following dates and locations:

* Poland Fire Department, Poland, March 3,

* Van Buren Fire Department, Harmony, June 6,

* Jackson Township Fire Department, County Roads 600 North and 200 East, Sept. 3, and

* Posey Fire Department, Staunton, Dec. 3.

All meetings will start at 6 p.m., with the Clay County Fire Chiefs meetings to follow at 7 p.m.

Post Prom Information

The Northview Post Prom Committee is asking junior parents for donations for the 2013 post prom.

Those interested in sending donations are asked to mail them to Post Prom Committee, 3150 W. SR 340, Brazil, Ind., 47834.

Reunion Time!

The Van Buren High School class of 1978 is planning its 35-year reunion.

Organizers are still in need to help locating the following classmates: Janet Black, Lloyd Creed, Brent Knox, Robert Litz, Aaron McKenzie, Crystal (Phegley) Reed, Agnes Wheeler, Kim (Walton) Hillenburg, Debbie (Woods) Barnett and Regina (Robbins) Walker.

Park Board To Meet

The Brazil Parks and Recreation Board will conduct its February meeting at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Brazil City Hall Council Chambers.

General business will be discussed, and the public is welcome to attend.

ISU Coach At Rotary

New Indiana State University football coach Mike Sanford will speak at the Rotary Club of Brazil's Wednesday, Feb. 13, meeting.

Meetings take place at noon, at the Renaissance Reception and Conference Center, 101 W. National Ave., Brazil.

Meeting Scheduled

The Brazil Board of Public Works and Safety will conduct a meeting at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Brazil City Hall Council Chambers.

General business will be discussed, and the public is welcome to attend.

City Council Meeting

The Brazil Common Council will meet at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 13, in Brazil City Hall Council Chambers.

General business will be discussed, and the public is welcome to attend.

Soil Seminar

The Clay County Soil and Water Conservation District will host "Soil Health: The Key To Your Bottom Line," Friday, Feb. 15, at the Clay County 4-H Exhibit Hall.

Registration for the event will take place from 8:30-9 a.m.

Those interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP by Friday, Feb. 8, by calling the Clay County Extension Office at 448-9041.

Dinner Time!

The Lady Volunteers will serve a community dinner Friday, Feb. 15, from 4-7 p.m., at the Staunton Community Center. Baked steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, broccoli-cauliflower salad, dinner rolls, dessert, coffee, tea and lemonade are on the menu. Cost is $9 for adults and $5 for children 10-under.
