Letter to the Editor

Shelter cats also need help, too

To the Editor:

I am a cat.

I live at the Clay County Humane Shelter.

I am one of the lucky ones.

I will not be euthanized.

I have many friends here.

We have clean cages, good food and people to take care of us, who love us.

We hope we can find a forever home.

Sometimes, we are adopted by loving families.

Sometimes, we have to stay at the shelter.

Either way, we are loved.

We also need supplies to keep us healthy and happy.

Now, I will let one of my caretakers tell you what we need. Her name is Nola. She loves us.

Hello, I work at the shelter.

Someone once said that if you have a job you like, you will never work a day in your life.

I love taking care of the cats.

Now we need some items to keep the cats well taken care of.

We need clumping cat litter, brand name cat food (the cheaper brands are mostly grain products with little or no real meat or chicken added), paper towels, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies like disinfectant Pine Sol, bleach, etc., cat beds and cat treats.

We also have many dogs at the shelter.

People donate much more dog items than cat items.

Money donations are also appreciated. They are tax deductible.

Please help if you can.

The cats and dogs will be forever grateful.

Thank you very much.

Nola Jane Blueher,

Brazil
