Habitat gearing up for annual Fish Fry

Sunday, March 24, 2013

To the Editor:

Habitat for Humanity of Clay County is hosting a Jonah Fish Fry and Silent Auction on April 13, 2013, from 4-7 p.m., at the Brazil National Guard Armory on State Road 59.

We have been blessed with a matching grant from the Wabash Valley Community Foundation up to $2,500.

This is a wonderful opportunity to raise funds to help build a house this year for a Clay County family.

You may save $1 on each advance sale ticket sold by board members, Seasoned Wick and Terre Haute Savings Bank in Brazil.

At the door, prices are $8 for adults, $5 for children ages 5-10 and free for children 5-under.

Homemade desserts are $1 each.

So far, our silent auction has a variety of items donated by generous local merchants, including memberships to Fun Time Fitness and Aquatics, the YMCA of Clay County and Curves.

You may also bid on oil changes, a muffler tip, scented candles, crafts, basketballs, food from local restaurants, hair products and sports memorabilia from Steve Weatherford and Indiana Fever Women's Basketball champions.

We also have tickets for King's Island, Six Flags in St. Louis, the Indianapolis Indians, Caribbean Cove Water Park and the Indianapolis Ice to be sold to the highest bidder.

We are still taking donations.

Come and support a good cause.
