TERRE HAUTE -- Those interested in learning more about lineage societies, including the American Revolutionary War, are invited to the Wabash Valley Genealogy Society meeting May 13.
The program, "DAR and SAR Membership Requirements," is specifically designed to help those who wonder if they are eligible for membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution or the Sons of the American Revolution.
The program will be presented by LaVonne Waldron.
The meeting will take place from 6:15-8 p.m., and will be at the lower level conference room (A, B and C) in the Vigo County Public Library.
Doors will open at 5:45 p.m.
Waldron will discuss the application process, the information requested, the proofs required and how to prepare a work sheet that is used to prepare the application.
In addition to being an active member of the Wabash Valley Genealogy Society, Waldron is a 33-year member of DAR. She has held numerous local, regional and national offices in the DAR organization.
The Wabash Valley Genealogy Society is based in Vigo County and serves Clark, Crawford and Edgar counties in Illinois, and Clay, Greene, Parke, Putnam, Sullivan, Vermillion and Vigo counties in Indiana.
