A Brazil woman was arrested Saturday morning and preliminarily charged with Possession of Methamphetamine.

According to Brazil Police Department Chief Clint McQueen, officers arrested Tina L. Francis, 34, Brazil, after stopping near Cooper Towers following up on a call of a suspicious vehicle in the area.

At approximately 11:30 p.m., Friday, McQueen said dispatch received a call about the vehicle, which was northwest of Cooper Towers.

Upon arrival, officers witnessed several people standing around the vehicle. The people, according to reports, were discussing a recent break-in.

During the course of finding out why all the people were in the area, some asked officers if they could leave.

As some of the people began to leave the scene, officers discovered a clear plastic bag with a white substance near the passenger side of the vehicle. The bag was found where Francis was allegedly standing.

The substance field-tested positive for methamphetamine.

When officers were finished with the individuals at the scene, they went back to Cooper Towers to locate Francis.

Officers located Francis and discussed the situation with her. She denied the methamphetamine was hers, but an arrest was made.

When being escorted to the patrol vehicle, Francis allegedly made statements indicating she had knowledge of the bag.

No other arrests were made at the scene.

As of Sunday afternoon, Francis was still incarcerated at the Clay County Justice Center on a $7,000 bond, with no 10 percent allowed.

Wow, no surprise there...you'd think by now the ccjc would start charging them rent as much as they're in that place!! And I'm pretty sure you actually have to HAVE your kids in order to raise them, in which none of them do....either they're in the welfare system or they're baby momma's/daddy's have custody of them because they all are unfit and can't give up the drugs or stay out of jail long enough to even try to be a parent!! I for one have sympothy for the children, can you imagine what they've been through and had to deal with....it's sad really!

Too bad there isn't an ingredient in meth to make the users sterile. That would solve a whole lot of problems.

One look at that picture should deter anyone from using drugs.

We have read about this family over an over in the paper an can only hope that people living in other towns don't think we are all like them. They are an embarressment to our town. They all live in terrible living conditions an on welfare. Why doesn't any of them have a job? Now that most of the kids have been taken from them why can't any of them work like the rest of us do Once again we see one of the adult "children" in trouble, an we feel sad for the kids an all they have been through.Jail an re-hab seems to be a way of life for them. We can only hope the next generation turns out to be responsible adults. There are none now..sad..
