To the Editor:

First, we would like to applaud the Brazil Board of Parks and Recreation for listening to the people of Brazil.

By voting not to allow the sale of alcohol in Forest Park, the people's voice was heard.

This festival, by all accounts, was growing each year without the sale of alcohol.

What a wonderful ting to have a place we can go with anyone, young or old, free of the influence of alcohol.

In Romans 14:21, the Bible says, "It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor anything whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is weak."

Over the years, we have worked with people who have drinking problems.

Surprisingly, a lot of the people that have a drinking problem are respected people of all circles of life.

While some can stop at one drink, these people cannot.

We have seen people take one drink out in public and then privately keep on drinking.

Some of these people sit in church with us. They are staying sober with the grace of God. Never should we place a stumbling block in their path.

Also, we need to teach our little ones to keep sober, love Jesus Christ and try to live peaceably with all men.

Speck and Brenda West,

Brazil
