Too bad festival is over

Sunday, August 11, 2013

To the Editor:

To the board of the Popcorn Festival:

It's a shame you stopped the Popcorn Festival. In case you haven't noticed, there are signs throughout the park that read, "No alcoholic beverages allowed."

There are reasons for this, the main reason being the children.

It's a bad example for them to see people coming and going from booths that serve alcohol, not to mention driving from the park after drinking.

We complain about drinking and driving and yet, you want to serve beer at a function where children frequent and then stop the festival when concerns arise.

Please use some common sense in the future.
