TERRE HAUTE -- The Alzheimer's Association's "Walk To End Alzheimer's" event is scheduled for Sunday.
The opening ceremony will take place at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology at 1 p.m., and the walk will begin at 1:30 p.m.
Registration for the event is at noon.
The walk is to raise awareness for Alzheimer's care, support and research.
In 2012, the Terre Haute Walk raised more than $42,000, contributing to more than $51.8 million raised nationwide for care, support and research efforts for those impacted by Alzheimer's.
Participants of the walk will be able to learn more about the Alzheimer's disease, advocacy opportunities, clinical trial enrollment, and support programs and services.
Each walker will also join in a tribute ceremony to honor those affected by Alzheimer's disease.
Interested persons can join a team by visiting alz.org/walk or call 800-272-3900.
