Pop can collection ongoing

Sunday, October 20, 2013

To the Editor:

Our church has a continuing project for collecting aluminum pop cans that we in turn purchase rice for the children of Haiti.

We are in the 62-ton range at present and appreciate all those who help us.

Not only the cans, but we collect the tabs for the Ronald McDonald House at Indianapolis, whereby families may stay at cheaper costs or no cost at all, depending upon their situation.

Drop-off points are Bedwell Tire Shop on East National Avenue, Community Missionary Church, 21 W. Pinckley St., Brazil, Pastor Thomas' residence on Airport Road, or phone for a pickup if you cannot drop off.

Old "Sarge" Eveland has moved from Knightsville and friends are asked not to leave their cans at his old residence anymore.

But you can phone him at 448-2873, after next week when his phone will be reconnected at his new residence.

We sincerely appreciate all those helping us feed children in Haiti.

Our church buys necessary extra large packs to haul cans to the market and we furnish all the fuel, so none of the pop can money is spent for any expenses involved.

It all goes to the children.

"Sarge" Marian

Eveland,
