Events planned for locals suffering from ALS

Sunday, December 15, 2013

To the Editor:

Our community has been hit hard recently by the diagnosis of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).

In honor of Ruth Ann Percell and Chad Smith, and in memory of Traci Miller, we have organized an afternoon of fun and games!

New Year's Day, 2014, commencing at 2 p.m., an afternoon of Binga, a silent auction and snacks will be available to all.

In return for a $20 donation to ALS research, participants will receive a set of binga cards to be used that afternoon, various organizations/businesses have donated gifts as a "thank you."

In addition, there will be a silent auction during the event.

All proceeds from these two events will be donated to ALS research.

During the event, there will be snacks and drinks available for purchase, the proceeds from this purchase will be donated to FBC Christian Youth Camp Ground as a thank you for the use of their facilities.

We are inviting community businesses to be involved. We need items for the thank you gifts and the silent auction.

Please give as you are led, and register for the day, for a fun-filled afternoon.

FBC Christian Youth Campground Board of Directors and the Planning Committee invite you to help ALS research.

With the support from your business and the community, we can continue the fight against Lou Gehrig's Disease and continue the mission of the ALS Association -- to find a cure for and improve the lives of those living with ALS.

Contact Lisa or Kim for more information.

Pre-registration for the event is required. Event will be held in the dining hall on the FBC grounds.

God Bless You!
