Taiwan officials visit Statehouse

State Sens. John Waterman (R-Shelburn), David Long (R-Fort Wayne) and Brent Waltz (R-Greenwood) welcomed members from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago to the Indiana Statehouse on Feb. 13. The Taiwan officials are working to expand and strengthen Taiwan's ties to many Midwest states, including Indiana. In 2012, Indiana's exports to Taiwan reached $235.6 million -- a 9 percent jump from 2011. Taiwan is also Indiana's eighth-largest export market in Asia and 20th-largest export market in the world.
