Reader questions validity of same-sex marraige

To the editor:

My question, as to the right of same-sex couples to marry, is "Why"?

According to the June 28 edition of The Brazil Times, Judge Richard Young had already ruled they could file joint tax returns, receive pension benefits and have their partners listed as spouses on their death certificates. Why do they want to take the vows of Holy Matrimony, which God established when He joined Adam and Eve together. In the New Testament, He calls the church the Bride of Christ. It also fortells in the New Testament that one day we who know Christ as our Savior will be at that great wedding feast; the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.

So why do same-sex couples want to take something that is described in the Bible as sinful, homosexuality along with other sins in Romans 1:18-32, and try to sanctify it by getting married.

God does not sanctify sin, nor will He. Jesus did not come into this world to save us in our sins but rather from our sins. Just because the state approves of same-sex marriage doesn't make it sight in God's eyes. The state also approves of abortion, but that is not right either.

Am I angry with homosexuals or lesbians, or any other lifestyles? No, definitely not. I'm angry at sin and the destruction it is causing in the lives of all who practice it. My prayer is for them to turn to Christ and find all they need in Him.
