Downtown business in new location

Thirty years ago, Rick Jeffries opened RJ's Formal Wear in the Arketex building (the current location of the license bureau on National Avenue.) In 2001, the building burned to the ground and Jeffries managed to keep the operation going thanks to his customers, he said. RJ's moved into the building now occupied by The Outpost and Timberman's Barber Shop where it remained until two months ago. It now occupies a brown brick building on the west side of First Farmers Bank & Trust. On Tuesday morning, RJ's new location was celebrated by Mayor Brian Wyndham and the Clay County Chamber of Commerce with a ribbon cutting.
