Woman searching for Center Point School info

Sunday, March 22, 2015

To the editor:

Having been a student of Center Point School, I am undertaking a history project which involves as much information as I can glean from any source available about the people who attended, the teachers, and the school building, itself.

I would like to make a plea to readers of The Brazil Times to help me gather pictures, stories, statistics, printed mementos and anything they can come up with in their own memories. I will gladly reimburse the cost of postage if the information can be mailed to me.

I would like to hear from anyone who either attended C.P.S. or whose relatives or friends went to school there. Former teachers' descendants might also have an old box of "saved" things put away somewhere.

My phone numbers are -- home: 812 246 5733; cell: 812 989 5596. If I don't answer, feel free to leave a message with your call-back number. I'll be glad to return your call, and we can decide if what you have is any different from what I already have. I'll be glad to listen to anything you can tell me or read anything you send me.

If you are willing to contribute something, I'd really like to receive the information within at least three weeks if possible. I hope to get the book together in time for the Center Point School Reunion at the end of the summer.

Let me reassure you that you don't have to worry about whether your great uncle or your grandfather exaggerated or embellished a bit. The material will be presented simply as word-of-mouth information. And, many times, a little embellishment tends to "improve" a story!

I hope to hear some new information about this "old" subject.
