Business partners continue to help students

Monday, May 25, 2015

To the editor:

The Northview Transitional Work Experience Program is nearing the end of its 16th year and the students and staff would once again like to thank all of our participating business partners for their personal interest and support of the program. Several businesses in our community have also made monetary donations to aid the program. These donations offer students a paid incentive to do their best at their jobsites and help motivate students as they transition from school to the adult world of work. During the 2014-2015 school year, the following businesses have provided students the opportunity to receive on-the-job training at their facilities:

Berea Church, Bob & Angie's Hometown Cafe, Exceptional Living Center, Forest Park Elementary, Goodwill, Northview Custodial, IGA/Page's Food Store, Top Notch Restaurant, Wal-Mart, YMCA, and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in the departments of housekeeping, recycling and Aramark Foods.

Business partnerships with special education students can and does make a difference!
