Christmas In The Park details upcoming activities, need for financial support

Monday, October 12, 2015

To the editor:

Christmas In The park is working on the lighting of the shelters and other objects in beautiful Forest Park for the holiday season. In the past few years, we have received complaints about the park not being completely lighted.

We are asking for the help of the community to get the park completely lighted this year. We are in need of volunteers to decorate the shelters, bridges, playground and other areas of the park for the holidays. You would be responsible for the materials and labor to get this accomplished. The specific rules and regulations are available from CIP President Linda Ray. She can be contacted at 812-446-1811 during business hours.

Again this year we are looking for a sponsor for the Lighted Christmas Parade which will take place on Friday, November 27, 2015. We want to thank those who donated last year and say how much we appreciated the monetary help. In years past we had one sponsor of the parade however that sponsor had done it for 20 years and thought it was another community member's turn to step up and help out so we lost the funding for this event. We do have fundraisers, however, they do not make the kind of funds needed. If you would like to help in this way please contact Linda Ray, President of Christmas In The Park for more information.

We are also always looking for new members for Christmas In The Park. If you are interested please give us a call.
