Expect attacks on civil rights

To the editor::

We should expect attacks on our civil rights now too.

I think it's important we remember that if the anti-gun efforts of 3 years ago had been successful all American citizens might now be as helpless as those unlucky enough to live in the liberal states are. I'm sure the anti-freedom people are going to use the latest terror attack to attempt to restrict our civil rights, namely our 2nd Amendment rights.

All Americans need to resist this onslaught, write and call their elected representatives and ask them to protect our rights, our lives and our freedom. Ask them to oppose any new restrictions on firearms ownership, these types of laws encourage criminals and terrorists and endanger law abiding citizens.

There is a reason these attacks happen in Gun Free Zones and virtually everyone understands that at this point.

What will make us safer is stopping the open border policy along our Southern boundaries, stopping the importing of refugees who might well be terrorists, restricting travel to and from the parts of the world were terrorists originate and doing away with the "no gun zones" terrorists and criminals use to attack us. These are real world changes which would increase our safety.

Encouraging responsible citizens to carry and take a certain amount of responsibility for their own safety and the safety of those around them would also greatly increase the safety of the average citizen.

You don't protect deer from coyotes by cutting off their horns and you don't protect people by making them defenseless.
