Have you seen Friends2Follow?

Sunday, February 7, 2016

For those who haven't yet noticed, there's a new feature on The Brazil Times website that's designed to connect people to local businesses.

The "Friends2Follow" -- located near the top right of www.thebraziltimes.com works like this: local businesses or organizations that partner with The Brazil Times have all of their social media updates promoted on our website. For example, when local businesses, such as Hoosier Homes and Land, York Chevrolet Buick and French Monuments, post updates on their own Facebook pages about special deals, promotions or types of helpful information, it automatically shows up on The Brazil Times website.

Recently, for example, York was showing off a deal on a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado, French was giving advice on monuments and Hoosier Homes was sharing info about its upcoming open houses.

Friends2Follow puts the businesses in touch with those who may not have "Liked" them on Facebook. It also connects them with those who may not even use social media but visit The Brazil Times website for local news. With thousands visiting our website each day, the goal is to increase the reach for local businesses or anyone who wants to get the word out.

In an ever-changing media landscape, it's important for newspapers to evolve why still holding onto its roots that made it what it is today. Along with our own Facebook pages -- "The Brazil Times" and "Brazil Times" -- Friends2Follow helps us expand our network and keep everyone connected, young and old.
