Traffic Alert: water line break forces closure of U.S. 40 in construction zone

Thursday, April 28, 2016 ~ Updated 8:39 PM

A portion of U.S. 40 is closed to all traffic for a water line break.

The highway, from Vandalia Street to State Road 59, will likely be closed for the next 2 to 4 hours, officials say. The break took place in the U.S. 40 Project construction zone near Mario Bros restaurant.

The Times will provide updates, if, and when they become available.

  • I'm sure there's politics involved but I would have rather seen improvement money used to upgrade the water system first then fix the roads.
