History tells us: In the U.S., Mother's Day is a holiday celebrated on the second Sunday in May. Ann Jarvis, from Grafton, Va., first celebrated the occasion in 1908, on the anniversary of the death of her mother. Because of Ann's campaign efforts, in 1914, President Woodrow Wilson made the official announcement proclaiming Mother's Day a national observance. Who better to honor than our mothers' -- yours and mine?
