Letter to the Editor

Genealogical society changing hours

Monday, May 30, 2016

To the editor:

The Clay County Genealogical Society is trying something new this summer. They are going to be open an extra day at the end of the week. Their thinking is this: Some people like to combine their vacation time with family tree climbing and visiting relatives in Clay County. So, they are going to be open on Fridays through the summer. Last year they stayed open late on Mondays. The society members think it may be more convenient to have an extra day at the week end -- Friday for doing research and Saturdays to visit. Also they will be happy to help 4-Hers on their genealogy project.

The Clay County Genealogical Library, located at the corner of Gilbert and Main in downtown Center Point, will be open from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays through the three summer months.

The library has much information on Clay and surrounding counties that they would like to share. Whether you are a long-time researcher who is looking for something to break the brick wall you've hit or someone just starting to find out about your family, you are most welcome to come. We look forward to help you.
