Letter to the Editor

Has the NRA lost its mind?

Sunday, June 5, 2016

To the editor:

In 1964 I became a life member of the NRA.

In the late 1980s, I was a Golden Eagle NRA.

From 1964 to 1980, I signed many NRA memberships.

This all happened before the NRA lost their minds and started to promote assault weapons over sporting arms. Guns designed to kill people, not animals, people, man, women and children. Guns with multi-round clips of 20 to 30 rounds or more. Guns that shoot with such rapid fire that they can decapitate or dismember a victim on the receiving end. Under the guise of sporting arms. Anyone who is a real hunter knows the difference.

The State of Indiana recently passed legislation allowing assault, center fire, calibers, to be legal here in our own state of Indiana. This is salt in the open wound of Indiana hunters and citizens. This entire agenda has been headed up by what is known as political correctness. Negative leadership headed up by people like Mitch Daniels and Mike Pence. This kind of logic when it come to hunting is asinine. It is a direct insult to hunters who promote sportsmanship in hunting, not rapid-fire killing. I am a life member of NRA, life member of Ducks Unlimited, life member of Izaak Walton and am an advocate of hunting, not wanton killing.

Anyone wanting to take exception to this letter to the editor, I challenge them to a live debate anytime, anywhere.
