Regal Touch Permanent Cosmetics offers services to cancer survivors

Thursday, September 22, 2016

Regal Touch Permanent Cosmetics, a new member of the Chamber of Commerce, is locally owned and operated by Mary Hauser. A life-changing event led Mary on a new career path. After one of Mary’s siblings was diagnosed with breast cancer, further testing revealed she was BRCA2 positive. Consequently, Mary tested BRCA2 positive as well ultimately leading to a prophylactic bilateral mastectomy. After Mary’s reconstructive surgery the search began for a cosmetic artist that could provide 3D areola reconstruction through tattooing. Mary soon realized there was a need for this service in Indiana. Mary decided to do something about that shortage. She enrolled for a year as an apprentice at world renowned John Hashey’s Advanced School of Permanent Cosmetics in Florida. John is one of the pioneers in the field of permanent cosmetics. John Hashey’s school requires a minimum of 600 hours for the basic course and an additional 500 for areola reconstruction. Mary accrued more than 1200 hours of hands on training while in Florida.
