February Taizé scheduled for Feb. 14

Persons of all faith traditions are invited to join the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods and the greater faith community of the Wabash Valley for an ecumenical Taizé Prayer gathering from 7-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14 in the Church of the Immaculate Conception at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, located 10 minutes northwest of downtown Terre Haute.

The 2017 theme for Taizé is “Praying for Peace in the world and in our hearts.”

Taizé is open to persons of all faith traditions and is free to attend.

The hour-long service includes prayer, beautiful music, time for silence, spoken and silent prayers.

The prayer is quiet and reflective, peaceful and joyful. The prayer space is lit primarily by candlelight.

Taizé takes place on the second Tuesday of each month. Remaining dates for 2017 include March 14, April 11, May 9, June 13, July 11, Aug. 8, Sept. 12, Oct. 10, Nov. 14 and Dec. 12.
