Lunch was served Friday on the lawn at Brazil City Hall, but with a small technical difficulty — the gas grill wouldn’t work at first. Soon another grill was delivered and the first one was quickly fixed. The patiently waiting crowd was served hotdog and pork riblet lunches (a surprise addition to the menu) for a freewill donation.

Pat Krider talked about lemon meringue pie with some local soldiers who stopped by the Main Street Grill Friday.

Funds raised during the four-hour event will be used to purchase the $2,000 worth of equipment, including an audio system, projector and the cords needed to set up the upcoming free summer movie night series for families.

Donations to support this project — Main Street Grill — can be sent to Brazil Main Street, P.O. Box 241, Brazil, IN 47834.

Brazil resident, Desiree Targett, 10, enjoyed lunch on the lawn of City Hall.
