Farris claims 11th Brazil Open in a playoff over DeHart

Troy Farris captured his 11th Brazil Open sponsored by Riddell National Bank in a playoff, edging Chris DeHart with a birdie on the third hole. Farris and DeHart each finished 36 holes at 128, which is 14-under-par. Farris carded a 63 and DeHart a 65 on the second day to play in the featured twosome on the final day.

Farris lead by two shots after the first day and shot a 31 on the front nine. However, DeHart was a shot better with a 30 to cut the lead to one shot heading into the back nine holes. DeHart picked up a shot on the final nine holes to force the playoff.

The players split the first two holes before Farris birdied the par-four third hole to win the match.

Past winners include current PGA player Chad Collins as well as Ted Kaperak of Terre Haute. Eric Trusler was the defending champion.

Flight winners included: Doug McDonald (first flight), Trusler (second flight), Tracy Frazier (third flight), Rick Jerrells (fourth flight), Steve Paquin (senior division) and Jalen Satterfield (junior division).
