Thanks for collaborative effort on drainage project

To the editor:

What a grand community we live in! We have an unrivaled ability to pull together to accomplish anything we set our minds to. The Forest Park Drainage Project is one of the examples of that ability.

For the first time in my memory, our community enjoyed the Rotary Club’s annual 4th of July celebration on firm ground, even though it rained heavily on at least one day during that celebration. The reason for that dry, firm ground is the new drainage system put in place by many in our community. Wastewater Superintendent Billy Goodrich, Mike Bemis, Jerry Robison, Mike Head, Chris Head, Rob Geldmeier, Mark Norris, and Dallas King of the Wastewater Department, Keith Zinkovich and his team at Groundworkz Construction, Brad Barrett and his team at Barrett’s Excavating, Knust Excavating, Brian Allender, Brazil Parks Superintendent Marv Moon, Mayor Brian Wyndham, members of the Water and Street Departments, my fellow Park Board members Brian Bemis, Janet McClellan, and Zach Stultz, and all else who lent a hand to make this drainage project possible: A huge ‘Thank You!’ for being a part of this monumental success.

We on the Board of Parks and Recreation are doing our best to make each of our parks special in its own way, as our 5 Year Plan explains. It’s a slow process sometimes, but we WILL get there…together.
