Andrew Francis Murphy
Andrew Francis Murphy, 65, of Poland, Indiana, died unexpectedly, on October 11, 2017 at Regional Hospital.
Andy was born May 10, 1952, in (Queens) Jamaica, New York the son of Rita (McArdle) Murphy and Andrew Francis Murphy, Sr.. He graduated from Springfield Gardens High School and attended various colleges. He joined the Air Force in 1970 and was honorably discharged in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. He later served with the National Guard and was an active member of the American Legion for over 45 years.
He loved life and he always made the people he met enjoy their life a little more too. His enthusiasm for just about everything was astonishing – old cars, antiques, paintings, plants to name a few. He thoroughly enjoyed rehabbing old houses, always had at least one under reconstruction. He also loved cruising and had been to just about every visitable island in the Caribbean, with additional journeys to Panama Canal and Alaska. He will be missed. Just by being himself he enriched the lives of those who knew him.
He leaves behind his wife Mary Anne (Watson) Murphy whom he married February 8, 1985.
A memorial service will be held at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834 Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 2:00pm with Pastor Chris Gregg officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1pm until time of services.
