This is not about 2 cents, but about principle

To the editor:

I owed the state of Indiana for back taxes, $151.29, and other fees of $13.30 and county fees of $28 bringing the total to $192.59. My grandfather drove 52 miles round trip to give them a money order for the full amount of $192.59.

One week later they sent a bill saying I owed 2 cents, and they were going to charge me 1 cent a day interest.

How outrageous when politicians take private airline flights costing tax payers hundreds of thousands of dollars. This is not about 2 cents, it’s about principle.

If the state of Indiana is that hard-up, I guess I’ll go from door to door to take up a collection for them.

Sad.
